Route Overview:
A quiet and pretty route using back lanes from Milford station through Hambledon and the Chiddingfold countryside and approaching Haslemere through Prestwick and Grayswood before arriving at Haslemere station. You can pick up an electric bike in Hambledon at Surrey Hills Cycle Hire.

Places of interest: The Merry Harriers | Surrey Hills Cycle Hire | The Station House

Exit Milford Station and turn left crossing the railway and heading east on Station Lane. Go through Enton Green and down to Hambledon crossroads. Turn right along Hambledon Road, with Hydons Ball on your left and the West Surrey Golf Club on your right. Look out for The Old Coal Yard on the right with an array of interesting small businesses before passing The Merry Harriers pub on your right. Look out for the Llama Treks!

Carry on into Hambledon village and bend right along Malthouse Lane and the road freewheels downhill where it meets the busy Petworth Road. Cross the road onto New Road and follow it to Combe Lane where you will also see Witley Station. Turn left on Combe Lane and follow for a while, crossing a stream and then at a junction turn right into Prestwick Lane. Follow the lane through fields and woodland and into Grayswood village. At a junction go straight on at Clammer Hill for into the countryside again.

At the next junction bear right up Three Gates Lane which climbs steadily past St Ives School – keep going straight through the housing until you meet a busy Grayswood Road. Cross directly here into Church Lane, and after crossing the railway bridge turn left at the green along Tanners Lane.

Go over another railway bridge until the lane meets Haslemere’s Lower Street. Turn right and you will find Haslemere station on the right. You can reward yourself with a drink at Harper’s Steakhouse (The Station House pub) just opposite the station.
