Walk Description

This walk takes in some of the most attractive parts of the large parish of Binsted. The route weaves its way from the edge of Alice Holt Forest through a meadow (famed for its butterflies – unfortunately not visible in April), over the old Bordon branch railway, up the grassy slopes of Home Hanger, along the Hanger edge before roller coastering up and then down another Hanger and passing by the 12th century Holy Cross Church and Lord Montgomery`s grave in Binsted village. From the church it is then a stroll across Binsted plateau, which has good views of Telegraph House (built as a semaphore station in 1825), before returning to the station.
