Linchmere Common

Walk Description

The area between Guildford and Petersfield is rich in heathland: a precious and endangered lowland habitat. This linear walk between Liphook and Haslemere follows both the Sussex Border Path and Serpent Trail across first Stanley Common, then Linchmere and finally Marley Common before descending down into the Camel Valley. En route, there will be a detour to visit Linchmere church. The multiple benches in the churchyard, all positioned facing southeast towards Henley and Verdley Edge, give an indication of the quality of coffee-time view.
